Clam Chowder

5 to 6 servings. Usually doubles

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 lg potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1 med stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 sm onion chopped
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cup milk
  • 2 x 6 1/2 cans minced or chopped clams. drained, save liquid

Instructions

In large saucepan, fry bacon til crisp. drain.

Add vegetables, seasonings, and liquid from clams.

Heat to boiling. Cook covered 10 minutes.

Combine flour and milk. Add to mixture.

Heat over med heat til thickens. Stir.

Add clams. Heat but don't boil.

Garnish w/ bacon.
